RecoverX Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Overview
RecoverX ("we", "the app") is an iOS application that reads your health data to provide personalized recovery insights. This privacy policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and our commitments regarding your privacy.
Data We Access
RecoverX requests read-only access to the following Apple HealthKit data types:
- Sleep analysis
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Resting heart rate
- VO₂max
- Workout records
- Biological sex, read once. The published fitness-age reference tables are separated by sex, so the estimate cannot be produced without it. Decline and RecoverX says it cannot compute the number, rather than guessing one.
- Respiratory rate, wrist temperature while you sleep, and cardio recovery, all recorded by Apple Watch. These are shown to you as your own trends against your own baseline. They do not change your recovery score, and nothing here detects, diagnoses, or screens for any condition.
- Date of birth, read once to pre-fill your age during setup. You can type your age instead and never grant this.
- Menstrual flow, read only if you log it in Apple Health and only to note where you are in your cycle alongside your recovery score. It is never uploaded, never used for advertising, and the app works normally without it. If you would rather RecoverX never saw it, deny this one type in the Health permission sheet, or turn cycle tracking off in Settings.
All HealthKit access is subject to your explicit permission. You can revoke access at any time via iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
What We Do With Your Data
- All health data is processed locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
- We do not operate any servers or backend. There is no account, login, or cloud sync.
- Anonymous usage telemetry (e.g., which screens you open, whether you tap the daily recovery score) is stored locally on your device only. You may optionally share this telemetry with the developer via the in-app "Export my usage data" button; this is fully opt-in and shows you exactly what is being shared before you send it.
Data Retention
All data created or accessed by RecoverX is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all RecoverX-specific data. HealthKit data itself is managed by Apple's Health app and is not affected by uninstalling RecoverX.
Third-Party Services
RecoverX does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app is fully self-contained.
Apple Services
RecoverX uses Apple HealthKit in compliance with Apple's HealthKit privacy guidelines. Apple's own privacy policy applies to the HealthKit framework and your Apple ID.
Children's Privacy
RecoverX is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Updates will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and posted at the same URL.
